For 25 years prior to us acquiring the land, the property and house sat stagnant, abandoned by its previous owners. Even in decades past, the land was abused and disrespected. Seeing it in that time, it was overgrown and strangled by weeds and invasive plants. You could barely see past the street. We immediately got to work in the early spring of 2023 and began to cut back the overgrowth. Over the past 3, almost 4 years, we have strived to give the property new life as well as begin a much needed healing period.
The initial desire for the property was a blank canvas to sculpt and rehabilitate as well as using the land to grow food. The Stone House was an opportunity to give new life to a nearly 3 century old residence in a modern light. It also offered the space for a residential recording studio. Renovations to the Stone House began in November of 2024 and were finished in May of 2026.
Currently, there are ongoing artistic landscape projects such as corten steel retaining walls, a garden folly, 2 outdoor patio spaces, a pond, and expanding wildflower and wetland meadows. As of October 2026, a garage is being built out of a technology called rammed earth thanks to the expertise and guidance of SIREWALL Rammed Earth Architecture. This will be one of the first SIREWALL structures on the east coast.
Our hope for the property is a safe haven for bugs and wildlife as well as a canvas for artists to find inspiration from. Over the coming years we plan to expand more of our creative projects throughout the property in a way that enhances the landscape without imposing on it. As stewards of this land we ask that all visitors treat the house and grounds with great respect.
